The Broken Dishes Quilt Block
The Broken Dishes block is another easy 4-patch (or 2-patch) quilt block.
Decide what size you want to make your blocks, and review the half square triangle page if necessary.
This is a great block to use up scraps of fabric. Be sure and reverse the
value if you want to place these blocks side by side. Notice in the above
picture that lights are placed against darks on the outer fabric. If
you put lights next to lights, or darks against darks, the fabrics
visually run together, and the blocks do not look as pleasing.
However, if you use sashing between the blocks, you can make them all the same
way.
This is a great block to use up bits and pieces of fabric.
Use good piecing and pressing techniques making your blocks and sewing them
together, and you will have a great scrappy quilt. Eye Candy for Quilters Pictures of Quilts and Projects
