The Connector Quilt Block

the grids of the connector quilt blockThe Connector Quilt Block is a very simple quilt block with a lot of impact.  As you can see from the picture to the left, this is a 9-patch quilt block.

There are 5 squares and 4 half square triangles in this block.  All you have to do is decide the size of your patches, and then make your half square triangles and squares, and sew them together using good piecing techniques.

This quilt block looks best scrappy.  If you were to make them all the same, the sides would just blend together.  However, you could separate them with lattice and cornerstones.

Another thing to consider is that this block is is chunky.  When you place it with other blocks, it will not show will, as in the picture below.
