The Flock of Geese Quilt Block is a 4-patch quilt block that has been further divided into 16 grids or patches.

grids of the flock of geese quilting blockThis is an easy quilt block.  It is made from large and small half square triangles. You can see the 4 sections of the block at the left.  The top left patch and the bottom right patch are large half square triangles.

The top right and bottom left are made from 4 smaller half square triangles.

If you want the 4 patch of the block to finish at 4 inches, your large half square triangles would be cut 4 7/8 inches, and your small half square triangles would be cut at 2 1/2 inches.

Review the section on half square triangles to understand the measurements.

Be sure you get your value correct, and you will have no problems with this block.

Here is a visual of this block with other 4-patch quilting blocks.
